Orange, you going to ask me?

About my ongoing love affair with orange lipsticks. Bad puns aside. Ever since the weather has been warming up, I have been gravitating towards bright lipsticks, in particular; orange lipsticks.

Let's get this party started with Revlon's Lip Butter in Candy Apple. If I were to define how I approach beauty in three words, it would be "on the go". Not quite a lipstick, not quite a balm. The Revlon Lip Butters are fuss free and perfect for those days where you want a slick of colour without wearing a heavy lipstick. Candy Apple is a sheer, subtle orange red colour which is perfect for those who are interested in buying an orange toned lipstick but are yet to purchase a obnoxiously bright orange lipstick.

Which brings me on to the Rimmel Kate Moss lipstick in 12. This lipstick is a match made in heaven when paired with black, white or navy. I'm a big fan of the Rimmel Kate Moss lipsticks as the formula is non drying, the colour pigmentation is fantastic and they have a great colour selection.  This lipstick has a very distinct orange colour with a slight undertone of red. If it were to have a name, I'd call it burnt coral.

Finally, on to the last but certainly not least favourite orange lipstick, it is the Rouge Dior Classic in Flamboyant Blazing Red #638. I actually bought this lipstick for my mum (the lady who instilled my love of orange lipsticks) while I was roaming at the airport in Bordeaux. However, my mum is in a magenta and fushia lipstick crunch and I am currently looking after this one for her.  Ah. The benefits of having a mum who loves lipsticks! Along with the vibrant orange red colour, the formula of this lipstick is amazing! It's hydrating, moisturising and has fantastic staying power. All and all, a total dream and worth the splurge!

Capturing colours is something of an art. An art that I have to practice. From left to right is the Dior Rouge (#638), Rimmel Kate (#12) and Revlon Lip butter (Candy Apple). The Rimmel Kate Moss lipstick is definitely more vibrant than burnt orange in real life.

Are there any orange lipsticks that I should keep my eyes peeled for? I look forward to expanding my collection.
